Maple's pups heading to their new homes
All of Maple's pups have been adopted and are now discovering their new homes.
Maple's 4 week update
August 13
Unfortunately, little Birch had multiple problems, was not growing and he didn't make it. We had a pup like him a few years ago so we realize that nature takes its course. It's all a part of raising pups.
Maple's 8 pups are doing well, growing and changing every day.
Here are a few snap shots of the crew at 4½ weeks old. They discovered at 28 days they can climb stairs, are able to get outside of their nursery and explore the outside run on their own.
Maple is a worrier and makes sure they keep out of trouble. She's adjusting to their increasing independence and can relax a bit whenever they get taken away for their human socialization time.
Each pup's budding personality is changing daily, so the odd comment made is to be taken lightly. Personalities will continue to form as they're nurtured and trained in their new homes.
Ashley is a sweetie, loves her snuggles and enjoys to ruff and tumble with her siblings. -- ADOPTED

PawPaw is full of the dickens, but will melt your heart with his puppy licks. -- ADOPTED

1st-time mom Maple gives birth to 9 pups
July 13
Maple is a natural mom even for a 1st time birth.
Maple gave birth to 9 precious little pups on July 13th; 5 boys and 4 girls. Maple is a natural mom who tends carefully and lovingly to her babies. Dean once again played midwife while I was away... and all went very well.
We decided to continue on with a tree theme with Maple's pups, so the boy's names are Spruce, Hickory, Birch, Dogwood and PawPaw. The girls are Ashley, Lilac, Palm and Elma.
This is my Dog... Wood. That was the going goofy thing that the kids had going this week. They couldn't wait for the pups to be born to pick which one would be Dogwood.

Going on 28 hours old... beat tired trying to grow up. Day one... Dogwood gained 0.05 pounds... (BTW- that is awesome!)
Both Dayo and Maple are around the 60 lb mark so these will be a very nice sized bunch of pups. I still have a couple of these pups not spoken for.
