This has been a fun litter, and so darn cute!! The pups are growing and changing daily. They've just been started on softened food as their teeth are just starting to bud. This litter has all been spoken for.

Choosing will occur sometime around the New Year and people will be able to take their pups home after January 4th.

It's very common that a change in barometric pressure brings on labour... but this time it was the pressure in the air from the presidential election?? ;)

After waking up with the news of the new President, I saw that Ginger was nesting and getting ready for her new litter of pups. I thought then to name this litter after past presidents and their wives, AKA 'First Ladies'. As it turns out there is only one boy and 8 girls, so I decided to stick with the plan of the first president and his wife, and then name the remaining girls after random First Ladies.

For interests sake I've added the years they were in office, and I've used just their first names. The pups are called: "George" and "Martha" Washington (1789-1797), "Abigail" Adams Fillmore (1797-1801), "Eliza" Johnson (1865-1869), "Ida" McKinley (1897-1901), "Bess" Truman (1945-1949), "Mamie" Eisenhower (1953-1961), "Jacqueline" Kennedy Onassis (1961-1963), and "Nancy" Reagan (1981-1989).

The pups are all dark to light apricot and have various sizes and coats, but I'll know better when they're 7+ weeks old and when folks choose their pups for sizes, coats and temperaments. At this time little Mamie is not gaining weight like the rest of them. We're doing what we can and are hoping for the best.
Update: Mamie took a quick turn for the worse and didn't make it.

They'll have their vet checkup at 6 weeks and can be ready to go home at 8 weeks after Jan 4th. Due to Christmas festivities, choosing and pick up dates may occur later.

I've received more than enough deposits in the past couple of weeks for this litter so they're all spoken for, but I'm hoping for more small ones in Tilly's upcoming litter.
