Darla's and Nico's F1 standard goldendoodle litter at 4 weeks

What a beautiful litter this is!! The pups are wandering outside the whelping box to toilet -- and a few have for a couple of weeks already!

They're growing nicely and their personalities are starting to blossom. I look forward to showing them off to the folks who'll be choosing them the first week of December.

They can start to go home after December 14. All of these pups are spoken for!

Darla's and Nic-o's F1 goldendoodle pups born October 19

Darla started having her pups later in the afternoon on October 19. Initially, she was delivering one pup an hour, but by the end, she was birthing two per hour (though the last one took a bit longer). After taking her for a walk to pee, I couldn’t feel any more pups, so she returned to her babies and slept. I checked on her a couple of times before going to bed, thinking she was done with 8 pups, which was more than I expected, so I was thrilled!

At first, Darla was very protective of her pups and didn’t want me fussing over them. I decided to let her instincts guide her, as the pups were doing well and were all feisty. On day 3, I was ready to start Early Neurological Stimulation, so I needed to get them ribboned and named. By this time, Darla was more relaxed and allowed me to handle the pups. To my delight, I realized there were 9 pups — 4 boys and 5 girls! I had been checking on them so often that I never re-counted, even though I had a photo showing 9 of them from the day before. Needless to say, I’m thrilled, especially for those on my waitlist!

Our theme for naming the pups is once again inspired by what’s going on in our lives. We’ve been doing a big house renovation since June. The last time we renovated — about 5-6 years ago — we named a litter after the products we used in the kitchen. This time, we decided to do it again!

The names of the pups are in bold:

We’ve talked about replacing our porch for five years because bats were finding their way into our 105-year-old house (Batman). This year, we finally found a Contractor to do the work. As with many renovations, it turned out to be a bigger job than expected, with many decisions to make. We chose Argon windows, Regal paint in a Pearl finish, and we still need to pick the Tile floors for the porch. We also installed Ikea Pax cupboards. We’re especially looking forward to enjoying the new Sunroom (AKA Sunny), which is now the second story above the porch! Lastly, I figured Waffle would be a good name, since that’s how some of my decision-making goes during this renovation. Lol!

Folks will begin choosing their pups from this litter starting on the weekend of December 4, and they can start going home on December 14. All of these pups are spoken for.
