Facts About Our Goldendoodle Puppies and Litters

    Did You Know
    • 70%+ of the puppies from each litter are going to homes who are getting their 2nd or 3rd puppy from Hearty K9s, or are referred from other happy customers?
    • We've been breeding Goldendoodles since March 2004.
    • Our goal is to have 1-2 quality choices in each litter for a service dog if one is needed. We also help match pups for those looking for therapy, facility, and ESA dogs, but most of our pups go to homes where they're fabulous pets who change the world in their own little families.
    • We help honour our puppies and families by doing our best to help match a puppy's temperament with its family's needs and lifestyle.
    • We record puppy evaluations, and folks who are choosing from that litter can view them from home before choosing a pup.

The Adoption Process at Hearty K9s

We make the adoption process simple and enjoyable, helping you prepare for the exciting day you bring home your new Goldendoodle puppy. Here's a quick overview of how it works:

Adopt A Goldendoodle Puppy in Alberta

    1. Start Early: Many families place deposits up to a year in advance, so we recommend starting the process as soon as you've decided to adopt from Hearty K9s.
    2. Complete the Adoption Form: Submit the fully completed form to get started. (button)
    3. Approval & Deposit: Once your application is approved, pay the deposit to secure your spot on the waiting list. Previous applicants receive first choice of puppies.
    4. Prepare by Reading: Read the recommended books to help you prepare for life with your new puppy.
    5. Puppy Selection: When the litter is 6–7 weeks old, we’ll contact you to schedule an appointment to meet and choose your puppy. If scheduling isn’t possible, selection can be done via email, photos, and phone calls.
    6. Review Preferences: Before your appointment, review your submitted preferences and bring any updates or questions with you.
    7. Payment: The remaining balance can be paid via e-transfer, cheque, or cash. Payment ahead of the pick-up day is preferred to simplify the process.
    8. Pick-Up Scheduling: If you’re not taking your puppy home immediately, bring your calendar to schedule the pick-up date and time.
    9. Take-Home Day: On the big day, you’ll choose your puppy, receive important care details (like food recommendations), and bring home your new companion.

    Important Notes About Goldendoodle Adoption

    Deposits Are Flexible
Your deposit secures a puppy but can be applied to a future litter or transferred to another approved family if your plans change.

Photos Are for Updates, Not Selection
Photos are posted to share updates but don’t reflect a puppy's full personality. Personality evaluations are done closer to 7–8 weeks.

    Personality Development
Puppy personalities continue to evolve through socialization and your care once they’re home.
